April 2017 Sketchmeet

Saturday April 1, 2017

Biological Sciences Centre, U of A (click on North Campus Map and scroll down to click on Biological Sciences Centre)

Meet at 11:00 (see below) or wander on your own

Meet for lunch at 1:00 in the Garneau Lounge, HUB Mall

I was on campus today and did a bit of reconnaissance for our sketchmeet on April 1. Enter the Biological Science Building through the door of the new wing that is closest to Saskatchewan Drive (See photo – The Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science).

Walk straight ahead and turn right at the Second Cup (closed on Saturdays). Go through the double doors and I will be at the Fungi and Lichens case to the right for anyone who wants to meet first at 11:00. Otherwise, feel free to wander on your own.

We can go to HUB for lunch at 1:00. You can grab some food and we’ll meet in the Garneau Lounge (upstairs middle-ish in HUB).

Paid parking along Saskatchewan Drive, in the Windsor Car Park and behind HUB, or you can take the LRT.

I couldn’t find the staircases to nowhere but there are museum cases of specimens in a lot of the elevator/stair landings in both towers, and there are amazing views of the city from the windows in the upper stairwells.

I have just signed up for your newsletter and would like to join your group. Is there a way to access members’ sketches to get an idea of where and what you sketch?
